Activities
We are happy to provide our guests with information about activities available in the areas surrounding the Lodge which include opportunities for hiking, fishing, rafting, kayaking or just relaxing on the deck!
Spring/ Winter Activities: Many winter sports exist in Alaska are often a highlight for our visitors. We are able to reserve the lodge at this time on an individual basis and can arrange activities such as ice fishing, dog mushing, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Ice climbing and snow showing are common activities around the lodge from February through April. Snow machine touring is very popular!
Aurora/Northern Lights Viewing:
Don’t forget that our lodge has tremendous northern lights viewing through out the winter from through the interior of our lodge!
Book in advance for winter and spring season events!
Wildlife Viewing: The lodge has wonderful wildlife viewing from its decks and from inside the lodge! Our spotting scopes will assist you in seeing the dall sheep abundant on the cliffs behind the lodge and the wild bison that frequent the river beds west of the lodge in the spring and fall!
Wild Berry Gathering: Berry picking is a passionate past time for many Alaskans and make for many wonderful winter treats. The hillsides surrounding our lodge are ripe with many kinds of wild berries in the fall wonderful for the berry picker! Secret berry spots may be shared for our guests wishing to have this Alaskan experience.
Fishing: Fishing abounds in the area north and south of the lodge! Just north near Delta Junction are Coal Mine Lakes full of grayling and trout. Less than 1/2 miles south of the lodge is a lake stocked with trout and an area wonderful for hiking! Within an hour south also lies Fielding, Summit and Paxson lakes. Tango Lakes is just west of Paxson. Salmon fishing is within an hour south. We are glad to refer our guests to guides and charters!
